1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (1 CMBG) is an Army Regular Force formation of 3rd Canadian Division and is headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. 

Mission:  1 CMBG will generate, employ, and sustain combat-ready combined arms forces for operations at home and abroad.

Vision:  Always ready to fight, 1 CMBG is an agile and combat-capable combined arms team that succeeds in uncertain, volatile, and complex environments at home and abroad. We generate, employ, and sustain mission-tailored forces, from the individual to the brigade group, for decisive full spectrum operations, by day and night, in all terrain, climates, and weather. Masters in the fundamentals of  soldiering and relentless in the pursuit of excellence, 1 CMBG warriors are adaptive, tough, physically and mentally resilient, compassionate, and humble. Our unflinching readiness is underpinned by a culture of service before self, disciplined adherence to professional standards, commitment to  soldier and family wellness, effective stewardship over entrusted resources, and alignment to higher policies and expectations.

History

1 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group has traditions which date back to May 1911, when the 1st Canadian Infantry Brigade was allocated to the 1st Division of the Non-Permanent Active Militia. Even before that date the 1st Brigade had existed independently as a formation of the Canadian Militia.
