"Whither right and glory lead"

4th Artillery Regiment (General Support), RCA [4 Regt (GS)] is an Army Regular Force unit garrisoned at 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown. Our mission is to enable Canadian Army operations with General Support (GS) Artillery assets through the generation of combat effective, multi-purpose Coordination Centres (air support, fire support and surveillance and target acquisition), Divisional joint fires and targeting expertise, Small Uninhabited Aerial Systems, and Medium Range Radar expertise in order to meet Canada’s defence objectives.

4 Regt (GS) is an Artillery unit that is the first of its kind in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery. While GS units were historically created to provide fire in support of the operation as a whole rather than to a specific unit, 4 Regt (GS) has evolved to master the deconfliction, synchronization, and delivery of munitions, and non-munitions based effects in a complex, multi-dimensional operating environment. This unique combination of skill sets is resident nowhere else in the CAF, giving 4 Regt (GS) a one- of-a-kind capability.

Command Team

  • Commanding Officer: Lieutenant-Colonel Andrew Nicholson
